New Teacher Training (NET) Academy Kicks of the School Year!
Over 135 educators new to 热门大瓜 gathered at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center on July 31 and August 1 for the annual New Teacher Training or NET Academy. The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce kicked off the event with breakfast during which Mark Vianello, newly appointed superintendent welcomed the new teachers. Following breakfast, teachers attended small group information sessions covering several topics including Human Resources, Exceptional Student Education, Technology, Professional Learning and Self Care to better equip them for a seamless transition to the teaching ranks in Charlotte County. On the second day of NET Academy new Charlotte County teachers spent half the day in hands-on technology training on Canvas, the district’s Learning Management System. Canvas training was led by teacher expert “Canvas Champions” who shared real life examples of application in the classroom. During the other half of the day teachers met with District Curriculum and Instruction Specialists to discuss Florida standards implementation and pacing of district adopted curriculum which will be used in the classroom. NET Academy sponsors included the Charlotte Florida Educators Association, Charlotte Local Education Foundation, Florida Gulf Coast University and The Suncoast Credit Union.
